Season of the Sequels
June 25, 2008 at 9:16 pm under seasonSo the summer season really gets into full swing next week. I’m actually excited for this season because there are a lot of sequels that I’m happy to see. Honestly, several of the new shows I just finished their first seasons like a few weeks ago. So they are actually fresh in my mind which is nice. Besides the sequels the season doesn’t really have anything going for it. And I can see how this will be considered a weak season for those who have no interest in the sequels or the new stuff. I would be in the same boat as you if I didn’t care about the shows but luckily I’m not.
This post is actually my post on the shows I’m checking out this summer. Just about all the sequels I will be watching except for Slayers. Slayers is not on my list because I’ve never seen the original series. I would go back and watch them but there is just too many episodes to see. And besides I’m not really interested in it to begin with. Moving out, there are not too many new stuff I’m watching. Most of those I just have no interest in. But I will be at least watching one episode to give them their fair share.
Sequels
Hidamari Sketch x365
I just recently finished the first Hidamari Sketch, not sure why I skipped it when it initially came out. Anyways, the first season was just awesome and the characters were just too cute. I just can’t wait to see more of the girls. This is another slice-of-life series for those who don’t know. And everyone knows how I love slice-of-life series so this is a must watch show for me.
Ikkitousen Great Guardians
I saw the series before this one like a week or two ago. The first and seasons where not bad; the first season was better. Anyways, I will admit that I can be a shallow person and I’m a guy after all so I would enjoy Ikkitousen. Ikkitousen has the hot chicks that fight (pretty good I might add) and in the middle of the fights they happen get torn from their clothes along the way. (The clothes just happens to cover just the right spots. Not really sure except for its animation.) How can no guy not like this? Honestly, I realize that this might not be the best series and it has a lot of fanservice. But I’m not afraid of some fanservice. I like to see a series like this once in a while. Now don’t get me wrong this types of shows are not my favorites. I can be shallow but I’m not too shallow. And besides you can’t watch shows like Ikkitousen all the time. I don’t really expect anything different from the previous series. It will be the same old, same old Ikkitousen. I just hope it doesn’t have 8 billion characters where almost all I will forget.
Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto ~Natsu no Sora~
I really don’t have much to say about this series. This is just the second season of Someday’s Dreamers. And it should be about the same as the first season, which I just finished recently as well. I see this as a semi slice-of-life series with I guess with a tad bit of drama. Not really sure that is an accurate way to depict the first season. I really liked the first season so I will watching this one.
Mission-E
This happens to be a sequel to the Code-E, which had a crappy ending because it left things open. Because of the first seasons non-ending, I’m hoping this season will answer some questions that were left unanswered. The image for this series looks a bit stupid with the weird, Tron suits. Hopefully, it would be as stupid as it looks. But I doubt that I will drop it because of that though.
Zero no Tsukaima ~Miyoshi Hime no Rondo~
Well, I’ve seen the first and second seasons of ZnT so I might as well watch the third. I expect this will be the same as the first two, the same old magic school. ZnT seems alot like Harry Potter but with some hot girls. I really can’t wait to see the new character that will be introduced. I have this thing for check with some well-endowed chests. I prefer them over loli but that is just me.
New Series
Birdy the Mighty DECODE
This might be a series that looks interesting to me but might be something I drop. The story looks interesting enough and the characters look good. This show seems like it will be filled with some comedy, which I enjoy. Not sure what else to add because I don’t know jack about this show except for the tiny paragraph that describes it. I will just have to wait and see. Hopefully, it will not disappoint but I’m not having high hopes for it.
Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu
Not entirely sure why this show looked appealing to me. It is a romantic comedy and I do like those. I hate those pure drama and romance shows. They just seem too serious to me and overdramatic. If I want to watch soap opera I will. Anyways, this series seems to have a few maids and some cute girls. Also it seems to have an closet anime/manga fan, in other words the opposite of Konata. That sounds like it will interesting. We will have to just see.
Sekirei
This seems to be a comedy and fanservice series. I guess it might be my thing. I don’t like all fanservice shows but this one seems interesting enough. From the description of it, the series doesn’t seemed to be focused mainly on fanservice. It sounds like it has an actually plot to it. But we will have to see if it truly is fanservice focused.
By the way, this show has some nice looking girls with some large breasts. That was one of the first things that got me interested in it. :3
Borderline Interesting New Series
I guess I should explain this section a bit. These shows are ones that didn’t jump out to me as all that interesting but I’m intrigued by them. They will mostly like not be my thing but I want to see what they are about. I think also that these series have a higher chance of me dropping them than any other series. Honestly, there is only two series that fit into this category/section.
Telepathy Shoujo Ran
At first, this didn’t seem interesting at all. But I read somewhere that two seiyuu, Emiri Katou and Kana Ueda, are in this and they voiced the two greatest tsunderes of all-time. I guess that is what got me interested in it. Seems a bit shallow I know but that just the way it is sometimes when it comes to new series.
Yakushiji Ryouko no Kaiki Jikenbo (Ryouko’s Strange Case Files)
This is a mystery series with some paranormal stuff added in. The main character looks like a MILF but from the description she is 27. Not really sure that is a MILF. Anyways, for some reason I’ve found a few of these mystery/supernatural series interesting. But not all of them. This might be one of them but I will give it a try. It is just borderline interesting

Your anime schedule looks booked with pretty much half the summer anime. Hope you can find enough time to squeeze them all in. :)
If you like Ikkitousen, you might want to give Koihime Musou a shot as well. It sounds like the same premise except based more heavily on moe. At this point, one more show couldn’t hurt you.
