Not Buying the Lucky Star Limited Edition Again
May 16, 2008 at 10:19 am under DVD, anime, randomI was reading the newsletter from RightStuf that I get each Friday. I noticed that the 2nd volume of Lucky Star is available of for pre-order. (Comes out July 1st.) Then I looked to see what the difference from the Limited Edition and the regular version. It comes with a t-shirt with Konata’s school swimsuit on it, a heavy-duty box, the CD of the ending, and the DVD. Not totally sure if its worth the extra money though. And besides I think the cover for the regular DVD is better.
Now I admit I did buy the first Limited Edition but not too sure I’m going to do that again. I do like the heavy-duty box and the screenwipe. Just not too sure I’m digging the whole t-shirt with the school uniform on it. Really not something you want to wear out in public. Anyways, I really think its silly to buy the Limited Edition. It’s not really much better except for the box. It would be different if you got stuff like from the Haruhi Suzumiya Limited Editions.
For those who want to buy the Limited Editions, I say hats off to you. Really you spend your money how you like. I do really love Lucky Star. But honestly, I’d rather spend money for just something I only care about and that’s the DVD. I guess I just fail as a fan.

The only anime thing I buy outside of conventions is manga. I actually plan to buy at least one Lucky Star dvd and I was considering getting the box but now I’m gonna reconsider considering my expenses too…
