My Blog is Back, My Blog is Back

July 3, 2009 at 2:19 am under personal, site news with 5 comments

Well, I have returned to the blogging scene. Man, its good to be back. So, do you wanna know what I did while I was away? Sure you do. Let see. Honestly, I didn’t do much. It pretty much the same old same old: watch anime, read, watch tv, etc. But a few things have changed.

For instance, I’ve gotten to know alot of people in Twitter, more so than I could ever imagine. Now, not only do I have anime friends, but now I also have manga friends. (woohoo!) They have thoroughly enlightened me to the world of manga. I appreciate all of you. Thank you.

Because I’ve my new found manga brethren, I have begun to buy and read more manga, to the point where I neglected my anime purchasing. Lately, I’ve been reading more light novels. I think I’ve begun to like them just as much as manga, if not more. You might see some manga reviews here from time to time now. I don’t know we will see.

Hmmm…what else, what else? Oh, I’ve really have gotten into the whole (legal) anime streaming sites. The two primary sites that I use to do my anime viewing is Crunchyroll (who has gone legit) and Funimation’s video portal. What really got me hooked was those simulcasts. Boy, do I like them. But more one this later.

Anyways, I’m back and hopefully I’m here to stay. Please pray and help me out. I don’t wanna burn out again. Thanks the support.

(Oh, yeah. When I began this post, I was thinking of the Welcome Back Kotter theme song. LOL)

Increasing Manga Interest

November 22, 2008 at 12:18 pm under Manga, animelife with 3 comments

Lately, it seems that my interest in manga is increasing. I’m not entirely sure why this is occuring. It’s just that I’m starting to read more manga blogs, which is increasing my knowledge of manga. And I think I would like to take part of more manga. I also like to see what’s the difference of some manga to the anime. I’ve always had an interest in that but lately I’m interested in going beyond that. I wanna read manga that is not become an anime yet. I would like to try different types of manga – Different genres (including more mature manga), different types, i.e. light novels, monthly anthologies, etc. Well, I would at least like to try out more manga. I should at least get the first volume of series that seem interesting to me.

I need to start spending more money on manga and less on anime. I’m still gonna buy anime and probably more than manga but that’s because my manga interest is just starting. I just would like to add manga to my current anime hobby. I would just like to expand my interests. Become a more cultured person in the otaku/anime world.

Marimite DVD news

November 15, 2008 at 12:43 pm under DVD, news with no comments

I know this is a bit late and some people may have heard about this already. I don’t write many news posts. I typically report news only when it’s interesting to me. Usually I don’t waste my time on news. But maybe I should write more just to give me something to write here.

So anyways, there is some good news and some not so great news. First off the not so great news, the 2nd season of Marimite (Maria-sama ga Miteru) was suppose to come out on the 25th of this month but it has been moved back to December 9th. Rightstuf says the change was caused by manufacturing delays. That’s about two weeks late but that’s OK with me because I have waited this long for the 2nd season. I think I can wait two more weeks. I really like Rightstuf DVDs. The boxsets are in decent boxsets. Not that thin cardboard like some of Funimation’s Viridian boxsets. Also I like that Rightstuf/Nozomi is subbed only, which makes the DVDs cheaper and I prefer my anime subbed anyways.

Moving on to the good news. Rightstuf has announced a release date for Marimite’s 3rd season (OVA). The release will be on February 24, 2009. I’m excited to know we finally got a date. Not sure if I should place it on pre-order just yet. Might wait until it either is released or we get closer to the release date.

The 4th season comes out this coming January. So if your a fan make sure you check it out.

Anime Streaming on Hulu

November 8, 2008 at 1:02 pm under anime, news, web with 6 comments

Has Hulu opened the door to free streaming anime online? Apparently, it seems they may have started something. I know other streaming site have started in the past but I don’t think it has been on the same scale that Hulu is doing now. Hulu is really beginning to include more TV shows than any other streaming site and not just anime.

A few months ago, they announced that they have created an free anime channel. The anime channel seems to be one of the newest channels that Hulu has launched. And the anime companies that Hulu has made a deal with are Funimation, Viz, and GONG. Initially, the anime series they added were Naruto, Death Note and Mushishi. Gradually the began to include more anime series. Currently, Hulu has 19 anime series that they are showing, which I believe is the most anime that any other streaming site has.

Fall Season

November 6, 2008 at 5:08 pm under anime, season with no comments

I’d like to take a few minutes out my lazy and no-life schedule to talk about the fall season. Currently, I’m watching about 7 series but there are a few that I’m not sure if I want to continue with. I really just couldn’t make up my mind. Some I dropped but then I decided that I would try it again after seeing some posts about that series. They made me realize that I may like it and that I should give it another chance.

So what are the series that I’m currently following?
