You know Funimation has been on a roll this week. They pretty much have made a license announcement every day this week. You don’t really see that much. Anyways, not really big news to me because all the series they have licensed are series I could give a crap about. Just a nice little trend I noticed this week.
In case, anyone wants to know here are the series Funimation laid hold of:
- Mamotte! Lollipop (Save Me! Lollipop)
- Kenichi The Mightiest Disciple
- Gunslinger Girl Il Teatrino
- Strain: Strategic Armored Infantry (Sokou no Strain)
- Shigurui: Death Frenzy
- D.Gray-Man
- Romeo x Juliet

I was reading the newsletter from RightStuf that I get each Friday. I noticed that the 2nd volume of Lucky Star is available of for pre-order. (Comes out July 1st.) Then I looked to see what the difference from the Limited Edition and the regular version. It comes with a t-shirt with Konata’s school swimsuit on it, a heavy-duty box, the CD of the ending, and the DVD. Not totally sure if its worth the extra money though. And besides I think the cover for the regular DVD is better.
Now I admit I did buy the first Limited Edition but not too sure I’m going to do that again. I do like the heavy-duty box and the screenwipe. Just not too sure I’m digging the whole t-shirt with the school uniform on it. Really not something you want to wear out in public. Anyways, I really think its silly to buy the Limited Edition. It’s not really much better except for the box. It would be different if you got stuff like from the Haruhi Suzumiya Limited Editions.
For those who want to buy the Limited Editions, I say hats off to you. Really you spend your money how you like. I do really love Lucky Star. But honestly, I’d rather spend money for just something I only care about and that’s the DVD. I guess I just fail as a fan.

Not sure if anyone else noticed this but seiyuu (voice actor) Jun Fukuyama is in a lot of series this season. You may recognize him as the voice for Lelounch in Code Geass. Anyway, he happens to be one of my favorite male seiyuu. So out of the series I’m following he is in like 6 series. Not sure if that’s considered alot but here are the series he is in:
- Code Geass R2 as Lelounch
- Amatsuki as Tokidoki
- xxxHOLiC: Kei as Watanuki
- Special A as Kei Takishima
- Macross Frontier as Luca
- Vampire Knight as Aidou “Idol”
Random Thought: Maybe I should do a post on my favorite seiyuu. Somebody might be interested in that stuff.

I saw this sometime last week or so and I just loved it. I know its a retelling of the original Evangelion series but I did notice a few changes. I think also that the rest of the movies are bit different than the series but not too much. Those little changes are what interests me. And I do know even if there was no changes to the plot I would still watch them.
The first Eva movie was as good as I expected perhaps even more. The visuals and CG was really awesome in this movie and the music was a new twist on the original. I like the new take on of my favorite parts of the series, the fight against the angel Ramiel. The CG and the changes they made was awesome. It seemed to me that Ramiel was a bit more intelligent than in the original Eva series maybe not. I really like how it screamed then it was shot with all the blood flowing down on NERV HQ, seemed like it was symbolic or something.
Anyways, I’m excited to see the rest of Eva movies being how I’m such an Eva fanboy and all. I really hope that these movies become available in the US because I wouldn’t mind adding these to my collection. Not really sure anyone is going to pick it up but who knows. I guess fansubs of the movies will have to suffice until then.
The next Eva movie, due out sometime this year, should be just as good and I’m expecting it to be so. I mean Asuka is going to be in this one. It has to be good if she is in it. To all the Rei fanboys out there, I do like Rei but perhaps not as much as Asuka. Not entirely sure why I like her I just know I do.

I was going to included this in a big post with a few other anime-related comments. However, I felt it might be better to write a few shorter posts than one giant post. I realize this is like old news and perhaps no one cares since its old. But I wanted to comment on the licensing and the ending of Aria: The Origination.
So I was just so happy when I heard that Aria had been licensed. I just couldn’t have been happier. Rightstuf really knows the right series to license and I’m glad they are not wasting time with dubbing it. Anyways, I just love this series. Whenever I watch it, I always felt good afterwards. This is a slow relaxing series that showed a glimpse of someone’s world. Not sure if many know this but I just love slice-of-life series. Anyways, I have already pre-ordered Aria. I did it pretty much the day it was announced. Now I just have to wait until the end of September.
So this past week I finished Aria: The Origination and I’m sad to see it end. It seemed like a very abrupt ending but like lolikitsune says: “any kind of ending for Aria is, by definition, rushed.” I totally agree with him because of the slow pace of the show any ending would seemed rushed. That aside I’m really going to miss seeing more of Aria. Honestly, parts of last episode I found sad and would have to say that I almost cried on some parts. Not too many series that can do that. But it showed that all good things come to an end. I think I will be rewatching all of Aria when the DVDs are in my possession. Of course, for a series this good I will probably be rewatching it well before September.

I know I promised not to write these types of posts but just bare with me. I just wanted to point out a few changes to the blog that I have made since my return. So as to know bore you with this I will just list the changes made:

Since I’m pretty much caught up with the recent anime series, I decided that I might as well start blogging again. I have been thinking about restart my blog for a few weeks now. I just haven’t sat down to actually do it.
So why did I stop in the first place? Honestly, there really wasn’t a reason for my stopping. I just decided to take a break, a very long break. At the time, I noticed that all my posts where not about anime any more but blog changes. That’s boring and most people don’t care if I just updated to the latest version of Wordpress or anything like that. A break was in order so I took one.
Anyways, not much has happened since I was gone. I was still watching the latest anime, reading anime/otaku blogs and doing the same old same old. Well, that’s not totally true. I actually started buying anime DVDs and I have built up a small collection. Also I have started to read and buy manga. But not really alot. I just buy one volume a month and that’s just about all. Now, about my real life not much has changed during the break.
Now, you can expected some posts about actually anime in the near future. Keep your fingers crossed that I can keep it up and come up with some good, interesting topics.
